Inspiration Monday-Easy-Breezy and Long

It’s been forever and a day since I linked up with Two Birds for Inspiration Monday.  It’s not that I haven’t wanted to link up or that I didn’t actually get dressed in whatever the outfit was, it’s just that for the past ( four? five? six?) weeks Baby B2 hasn’t exactly been kind to mama.  More like the little bugger had mama bent over a sink/toilet/trash can for the past eight weeks and when it came time to take a picture of what I was wearing I just wasn’t feeling the love.  Now that we’re about to hit week 14, life has pretty much returned to normal and I feel like a human again so standing in front of a camera is okay.  Hence the link-up with some of my favorite ladies!

This week’s inspiration is Olivia Wilde, and I must say, I love not only her, but this look in particular.  Seriously, what’s not to love?!

The moment I saw this picture, I had my inspiration.  Last week was the local Goodwill’s half off day, and I happened to stumble across two long maxi skirts in a size larger than my normal size (perfect for accomodating the Baby B2 bump) that are so long they almost hit the floor, even on me.  One is a bright coral and the other one, this wonderful bright blue.

Skirt: (no tag), thrifted    Tank: Fossil Layering Tank: Old Navy

Wedges: Xhilaration, bought at Walmart easily four years ago    Earrings: NY & Co (old)

I happened to find the tank on sale at Fossil (marked down from $68 to $19.99) when J2 was buying his dad a watch for Father’s Day.  It has these gorgeous navy, turquoise and silver sequins on an ivory background and when I saw it, I immediately imagined it with this skirt and earrings.  Obviously, I went back a got it after I couldn’t stop thinking about it and how it was meant to hang in my closet.

As for my unsightly hair…for the past eight weeks I have had my hair wound up into a messy bun, mainly because it’s hot  and humid as Hades here in Texas (we were hotter than Phoenix the other day, how wrong is that?!?) and yesterday and today the winds have been gusting around 40 mph.  I didn’t want to take a picture inside, but venturing out without blowing away wasn’t an option either.  So you get…my ugly side fence that’s protected from the whirlwinds ripping through the yard.  As a side note, if anyone has a terrific product that repels humidity in wavy hair, I am all ears.  Right now my argan oil in NOT working (grumble grumble).

So that does it for this weeks Inspiration Monday!  I can’t wait to see how everyone else was inspired, as this week certainly left a lot of room for interpretation!

Update: I’ve been following Meet Virginia Designs for over a year now and she has started this great link up called Thriftaholics Weekly on Tuesdays, so I’m joining the fun!

Your inspiration is the first I’ve seen whose done the floor length skirt and tank top combo, I haven’t seen them all yet. Kudos for going out of the white and black box, you mirrored the shape of the inspiration outfit perfectly. I also love your hair and earring choices as well~

Thanks for stopping by my blog!
